A New Canvas, A New Hope: Join Us in Repainting the Heart of Paradise at Buffy's Gift Barn

With a heavy heart, I bring you unfortunate news about the mural I painted for Nothing But Love in Paradise, CA. (Nothing But Love is now, Buffy's Gift Barn of Paradise) Unforeseen water damage is affecting the walls of the building. The new owner is deeply saddened by this unforeseeable structural issue and had to make the difficult decision to remove the beloved artwork. I share in the disappointment and understand the sentimental value it holds for the community.

But amidst challenges, there's an opportunity for a new beginning! Let's come together as a community to repaint a mural on Buffy's Gift Barn of Paradise. I've initiated a Give Send Go campaign to raise support for this endeavor. Creating a new mural will take five days of painting and two days of travel.

Here's how we can involve the community of Paradise and The Ridge:

1. Concept Designs: I'll be working on two different concept designs, which I'll reveal on my social media networks. The community of Paradise and The Ridge will have the chance to vote on their favorite concept for the new wall.

2. Fundraising Goal: Typically, a mural of this size would cost over $10,000. I've set the Give Send Go goal at $10,000. This is an opportunity for the community and local businesses to come together and support this project. For local businesses and/or individuals contributing $2000 or more, we'll create a plaque to be installed on the mural wall as a token of appreciation.   In addition,  if you would like to help Shane paint the mural we will have donation levels for this participation (in the past, many people in the community have expressed the desire to participate in a mural project -  this is your opportunity!) 

3. Costs: To be transparent, the funds raised will cover my expenses. If we reach $2,730.00, it will cover travel, food, paint and supplies, and the plaque. I want to emphasize that this project is not a profit-making endeavor for me; it's about covering my costs to make this meaningful mural happen.

Please remember that I am a full-time artist providing for my family, and your consideration means the world to me.

Our goal is to have a dedication ceremony at the location of Buffy's Gift Barn of Paradise when the mural is finished. This will be an opportunity for the people of Paradise and The Ridge to come together and celebrate the new mural. Additionally, I'll be signing prints of the mural for $40 apiece, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Paradise Art Center.

The date for the mural application will be determined, and any local businesses interested in being involved and supporting this cause are welcome to reach out to me directly.

Cost Breakdown:

- Travel from LA and back: $500.00

- Food (7 days at $40/day): $280.00

- Paint and supplies: $1,500.00

- Plaque: $450.00

Total: $2,730.00
